Before founding Newton Scott in 1989, I was an Equity Partner of Alder King, whose office locations included Bristol, Gloucester, Swindon, Exeter, Taunton and Truro in addition to Bournemouth and Southampton.

I began my career with what was then Bernard Thorpe & Partners, in Buckingham Palace Road, London SW1, recently known as DTZ and more latterly merged with Cushman Wakefield (2015).

My business is based in the professional district of Southampton.

When I’m not at work, I live in Poole, Dorset.

So you could say that I’m pretty much at home, throughout most of Southern England.

Who we are:

Newton Scott is a long established firm of Commercial Property Agents and Consultants, based in the heart of Southampton’s business community.

  • We provide a wide range of Commercial Agency services including sales, lettings and acquisitions, for both landlords or tenants. We advise many Investors, Property Companies and Private Funds, seeking commercial property projects, be it to maximise an estate’s potential or to identify a long-term secure asset.
  • Newton Scott do not play the Numbers Game. We never take on more than 15 properties at any one time, to ensure we achieve the marketing reach, diligently, to achieve the results required. We only market properties where we have the capacity to provide the level of service that our Clients deserve. In doing this we secure repeat business on a regular basis. Our strong negotiating skills enable us to gain the best possible terms from initial instructions through to final completion.
  • We have experienced several Recessions – and now the Second Lock-Down is upon us! Consequently, the value of quality advice has never been more necessary than in a difficult market, and we believe we provide a service that’s based on a thorough and in-depth understanding of our client’s aspirations, both in time-frame and financial terms, which reaps the results that can so often be missed.

I am as enthusiastic today as when I first opened our doors back in May 1989. The most important aspect is the commitment to our clients – without which there would be no Newton Scott.
